Most “crooked PDF” complaints are not about content — they are about page orientation stored in the file. Viewers honor rotate flags or re-encoded page trees. Fixing orientation once saves every future open, print, and form upload.

90°, 180°, 270° — pick the smallest fix
Try 90° clockwise first for phone scans that lean right. If text still runs the wrong way, undo with another 90° or use 270° (same as 90° counter-clockwise). Use 180° only when the page is clearly upside down.
Always open the download at 100% zoom and check a line of text before you submit a portal or print a stack.
Rotate vs split / merge / compress
Rotation does not shrink file size. If a portal still rejects the PDF for size, compress after orientation is fixed. If only some pages are wrong and your workflow is easier page-by-page, split → rotate each part → merge.
Watermark after rotate if you need a DRAFT stamp on the corrected packet only.
Encrypted or damaged PDFs
