How to watermark a PDF free (without uploading)

When a text watermark is the right tool
Watermarks mark status, not encryption. They tell reviewers “do not treat this as final” or “internal only.” Common stamps: CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, SAMPLE, COPY, NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION, or a short project code.
A diagonal semi-transparent stamp is hard to miss in screenshots and printouts, yet still leaves body text readable when opacity is moderate.

Why watermark without uploading
